The Evangelical Bible Translation (EBV) aims to accurately reproduce the original text of the Bible in readable, understandable and contemporary Dutch. Unnecessary liberties in translation have been avoided, as well as a too strict adherence to a sentence structure that is specific to the original language, but not to Dutch. As far as the New Testament is concerned, the Evangelical Bible Translation (EBV) is based on the text of the Aramaic Peshitta, the oldest manuscript of which dates back to the 5th century AD. BC is dated.
